Blogmas - Day 8

Hello

I am getting really festive at the moment.

Today mostly consisted of a bit of relaxing studying and watching a Christmas film. It was called a Bride for Christmas and was really good.

I had a boring day today but tomorrows should be more interesting I am helping with the wrapping service and it is going to be so much fun.

Sorry this post was short and not very exciting.

Until tomorrow

Internet will not post then posts all at once...

Sorry everyone my internet wasn't working and then decided to post days 3-7 all at once but better late than never. Lets just hope it lets me post the others when I write them for the rest of the time.

Blogmas - Day 7

Hello

My day today was quite boring and not very festive I was mainly studying and phoning different libraries and universities about arranging interviews. Being older is so much fun having to do all the admin your self.

I also have been continuing on with a cross stitch that was started a while ago which is being made for my aunt and uncle. I am making progress that is noticeable at last and I hope to finish it at some point in the next year as it is a big one. (if you look at my instagram beautymusicblog I will post a picture).

Until next time

Blogmas-Day 4

Hello

Today is the final day before the decorating weekend. I really can not wait to decorate our Christmas tree.

I also got my first offer from a university today which made me really happy (reapplying this year due to having to have an operation had to wait an extra year).

This evening I also get to see the comedian Kevin Bridges which I am really looking forward to and it should be amazing.

Hope that your enjoying your December

Blogmas-Day 3

Hello

My advent calendar this year is a beauty one. It isn't one of the big brand ones but a technic one and I am really enjoying it the products are good quality.

I would rate it pretty highly. The high end ones cost a lot so I like to try the cheaper ones as not everyone can afford the more pricey ones.

Hope you enjoyed this albeit short post.

Until next time

December is here

Hello

I finally have a bit of time to sit down and right a blog post and have been thinking. One of the things that everyone looks forward to each year the vlogmas season. I don't have a youtube channel so I figured that I would change it and do a blogmas on here. And with today being the first day of December I figured I would make the most of it. I am watching finding mrs claus as I type this getting in the festive spirit.

I hope that you will enjoy it.

Makeup Dupe

Hello everyone,

I found a really good dupe for a concealer I really liked.

I really like the Benefit Boi-ing concealer and love the creamy consistency.

However I found a cheaper alternative that works just as well

Seventeen's phwoarr paint, it has the same creamy consistency and it does the same as Benefit's boi-ing.

They are also the exact same colour and you would save a lot of money if you bought the dupe rather than the original.
I still really like the benefit concealer but I also like finding the same product but for less money.

Benefit Boi-ing is £17.50
Seventeen Phwoarr paint is £5.49

This means that just by picking the cheaper one you would save £12.01 each time you picked that over the other one.

I really like them both but thought that some people would like the cheaper alternative.

Until next time,
Laura xx

Quick Question

Hey I have a quick question,

Would you like me to do a makeup collection/dressing table blog post as I could do it over the course of a week (I have four draws and part of a cupboard which have some make up in) and work my way through the drawers and palettes.

If so either leave me a comment or +1 this post and I will do so I can try and do it Sunday to Thursday but no promises as I have an operation next Friday. Let me know if that is what you want.

Talk soon,

Stationery Haul

Hello everyone

I mentioned that I was going to be doing a stationery haul and so here it is.

I ordered a few bits off the Wilkinson website because I love stationery and because I am doing two more a levels this year.

I ordered one item from the Varsity Collection which was the A6 Organiser.

It contains dividers into different sections which is really useful for planning your life.

I haven't decided yet if I am going to use it this year or for my blog next year. It only costs £2.50 so is cheap compared to a lot of stationery stores.

Next I bought a couple of bits from the selfie collection.

I bought two packs of the Revision cards as I always seem to run out.

They are your basic revision card type except they have a border and are attached together in a pack. They only cost £1 per pack so can be a lot cheaper than some of the places you buy them.

The other item I bought from the selfie collection was the A4 Project Book.

I do love getting project books for if you have to do either projects, investigations or coursework as it is a nice way to plan it out and figure it all out.

I really liked the divider symbols in this one as well, a cat, Big Ben, A camera and a speech bubble. Doing work and projects can get tot the stage where it's boring and you have to force yourself to do it so for £2.95 why not make it a little more fun.

The final collection I bought a few bits from was the Forget Me Not Collection.

The first thing I picked up was a pack of handy notebooks.

They are A6 and you get 3 in a pack. They are perfect for on the go when, if your like me, you think of ideas for projects, essays or blog posts but you never have anywhere to write it down. This solves that issue and you get the whole pack for £2 when sometimes you have to pay that much for one.

The next thing I ordered were the exercise books.

I always end up writing my notes and rewriting them at least a couple of times for revision so these are perfect for me.
They are £1 each and as you can tell I ordered four, I really like them and decided they would be perfect for revision notes as I could tell them apart from my original ones.

The final item I ordered was a week planner.

This was more a purchase because I wanted one and had been looking online at other stationery sites and they were all £8 or £9 and I saw this one and loved the design. I am not the most organised person I try my best but anything that may help that is greatly appreciated and I will always give a go. This one was £2.50 and I decided to give it a go.

I hope you enjoyed this blog post and I should have more coming up soon.

Until next time,

Upcoming blog posts

Hello everyone

I am sorry I haven't posted this week but I have a few blog posts coming up.

I will be doing a stationery haul as I have a lot to review/show.

I will be doing a dupe post which will be fun as I found a pretty good one I think.

And also I may be posting an almost entirely drug store alternative to a look I really liked (only one product isn't drugstore) I hope you guys like it and if so I may try and do more with drugstore products instead of high end.

Talk to you soon,

Music Recommendation of the week

Hi everyone,

I have been listening to a bit of different music this past week.

In the sense that I have been listening to a musical soundtrack.

It is the Miss Saigon soundtrack and I love it. I saw the musical without knowing anything about it and left thinking it was amazing and in tears. I am lucky enough to be able to see it one last time in the west end before it moves to Broadway next year.

If you haven't listened to this soundtrack I would thoroughly recommend it I love it sooo much.

Talk soon (hopefully sooner than expected)

Tips/tricks for surviving school/college

Hi everyone

I decided to do a post on surviving school/college if your in the UK or High School if you are in the US.

I finished my time at a sixth form college in June and then had results in August. I am now studying from home this year before hopefully going to University (College if your in the US) next year. I had to take this year out as I have to have an operation and the rehabilitation afterwards would have disrupted my studies so I decided to approach it this way.

Therefore I figured I would lend some advice for how to survive your studies as often I have found that either myself or my friends found at times the studies were getting too much for them and they get too stressed and panic.

I have a few suggestions to help try to avoid that as being really stressed is not a good thing and can make everything spiral out of control.

1. Do the work as soon as possible. I know that it will sound boring but if you do not want to have everything piling up on top of you then get it done and you may have some time to yourself as well.

2. Always note down your homework. Most people have had that one piece of homework which they were sure they would remember and then the frantic texting your friends to see if you did have homework and it was suddenly more than you thought.

3. Make revision notes as you go. Just think about it the weeks of cramming before your exams could be made a lot simpler if you had the resources ready and waiting for you. A couple of extra hours could be the difference between grades as you will be able to learn it more simply.

4. Finally make a couple of sacrifices if it is a choice of going out with your friends or finishing your coursework, pick the coursework. I know people will disagree with me on this point but I see it as a day out with your friends which you could have another time or a piece of work which is part of your future.

Personally I would rather spend a few days when I turned down seeing my friends to secure my future as you can see your friends at a later date however if you don't try your best then you will never know what you could have achieved.

Give it your best shot and at least in the future you can look back and say at least I tried my best. I know adults who wish that they could do that now but because they didn't try when they were younger they are stuck doing a job that they hate.

Make the right decisions for you they will never be the right ones for everyone but you need to decide what is best for you.

Sorry this is a really wordy post.

Until next time,

Favourite tv shows at the moment

Hey everyone,

I figured I would share my current favourite TV shows and if you have time to kill and haven't watched these then maybe you could give them a go.

My first and probably most famous one is Supernatural I love this show but with doing my A Levels I have little to no time to fit in catching up with the show, however I have lately found time and it makes me so happy, I am going to enjoy catching up on them.

My other TV show favourite is Bondi Vet, I am loving this show and when I have no episodes I am at a bit of a loss. I love this series (probably fuelled by my love of Bondi Rescue, they aren't showing it at the moment in the UK it makes me sad) there are so many cute animals on that show and you just want to make them all better. If you haven't watched I would recommend watching it if that is your type of show or alternatively Bondi Rescue which follows the lifeguards on the world famous beach.

I recently got the full box set of Dexter and will be starting that when I have time and I also have the box set of Rome to watch so I will let you know what I think when I have watched enough of it to form an opinion.

Until next time,

Laura xxx

Music Recommendation of the week

Hello everyone

This is my weekly sharing of the music I have been either loving or obsessing over this past week.

This week it is a soundtrack I have been loving.

It is the soundtrack to Anastasia the 21st Century Fox film I love this film and have for as long as I can remember as I was young when it was released.

The songs in this I can listen to often or not for a while and I still know almost all the lyrics, I have to say this is one of my favourite films and will always be an important film to me.

I hope you have all seen it at least once and if not will watch it at some point.

Until next time,

July Favourites

Hello everyone

Sorry I haven't posted for a while but now I have more time as I have finally finished my room.

So this post is my July favourites

I have a pretty wide range of favourites again this month.

My first favourite is a book, Life with a Sprinkle of Glitter by Louise Pentland.

I love this book it puts a smile on my face whenever I look at it, it is something that I pick up regularly I have not finished the book yet but it is amazing so far. I love the little quotes that Louise has put in there they always make me smile and if I need to cheer up the little quotes always manage to make me smile.

My second favourite is a Yankee Candle in Turquoise Sky.

I love this candle it smells like a summer day on the beach and it always puts a smile on my face it is a very nice smell for this time of year.

My next favourite is a new discovery, the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water.

I love this product, I only got it because I wanted to see if it as good and it was £1 I have used it everyday and it does something amazing to my skin.

My next favourite may seem quite random as it is my moisturiser.

I have been using this for months and it still is over half full and it makes my skin really nice I would recommend this moisturiser if you do not require a moisturiser with an spf.

My next favourite is the Urban Decay all nighter setting spray.

I got the travel size but I rate this as it does make it so that your makeup stays which is necessary especially on nights out, I used this for a party and my makeup did not move.

My next favourite is my summer foundation, the Urban Decay Naked foundation.

I really like this foundation it is really lightweight and so is perfect for summer, it goes a really long way and has buildable coverage.

My next favourite is Zoella Kissy missy.

I love this lip balm it gives you some colour and moisturises your lips I have a lot of love for this lip balm.

My final favourite is a Benefit lipstick in the shade Swoonderful.

I believe that this is unfortunately discontinued now but I love this shade it is subtle but beautiful and I think it finishes any look nicely especially if you have gone bold with your eyes.

Until next time,

Newest high end products

Hello everyone

I am gradually in the process of building up my high end makeup collection and over the past month and a bit I have increased it by quite a lot.

I have another couple of MAC items and a few other Urban Decay bits.

From MAC I bought a couple of eyeshadow products.

I bought an eyeshadow in the shade mythology.

it is a really pretty neutral brown with shimmer and I think that it is a really nice colour that I can not wait to use.

The other MAC product I bought was from the Wash and Dry collection.

I bought the Veluxe Pearlfusion Eyeshadow in Warm Wash.
I really like these colours as I tend to use neutral colours for my eyes so this appealed to me when I saw it.

I also picked up a few other bits from Urban Decay

I got another Revolution Lip gloss in the shade Assassin which is a lot brighter than my other one which is in Liar.

This is a really nice bright pink with shimmer and I love the product it has high colour pay off as well which you do not always get with lip glosses.

I also bought a second afterglow blush in the shade Fetish

I really like this colour it is a subtle pink colour and perfect for an everyday subtle pink cheek.

I finally bought the full frontal lipstick stash.

Within it you get a full size ozone lip pencil.

You get six lipstick minis in the set

The first shade is Ladyflower a nice pale pink colour.

The next is Crush which is a pink which has some iridescence.

The next is Illicit which is another pale pink colour and is very pretty.

The next is Gash which is a dark red.

The next is Liar which is a nice neutral colour which I have the gloss of and I love the colour if the gloss is limited edition then I have the lipstick to fall back on.

The final colour is F-Bomb a brighter red.

The size of these didn't bother me as if you are uncertain about whether or not you will like the colour that size will be perfect.

I had a shopping experience in Debenhams and went a bit crazy at the Benefit stand so that has added to my High End collection.

The first set that I got was the Operation Pore Proof

It contained five different products

First is a mini pore fessional which is there best selling primer.

Next is the Dr.Feelgood face balm

Then the Benefit license to blot

Next is the Shy Beam which is a liquid highlighter and very pretty on the skin

Finally the Agent Zero Shine powder and a little brush to go with it

The other set that I bought was the Sugarlicious set

It contains four items

First a sugarbomb lip gloss which is a pretty pink colour.

A High Beam which is a highlighter I really like this as a highlighter subtle but beautiful all the same.

A Benetint cheek and lip tint which is really pretty

Finally the Sugarbomb blush with a brush which is really pretty on the cheeks the colour combination makes a very nice blush.

I got a they're real mascara in Beyond Brown

I believe that it is always nice to use a brown mascara for a change as it is softer than black mascara

Next I would get a they're real push-up liner in Beyond Green

I really like the fact that you do not have to apply gel liner with a brush because eyeliner is not my strength so being able to apply it with this when I have time to sit down and perfect it is perfect

Next I got the Boi-ing concealer in shade 01 light

I really like this concealer it is really good and it does work under your eyes in my opinion

I got the Hoola bronzer

It comes with a really soft brush which is really nice to use

I got gimme brow in Medium/Deep

It is a tinted brow gel which does a really good job

I also got a few eyeshadow colours. This one is the powder eyeshadow in Milk It!

It works really well for your inner corners

The next one is in Call My Bluff

This one is perfect for all over your lid

I got the shade Nude Swings

This is a good colour for your crease I think

Finally I got a cream eyeshadow in the shade R.S.V.P

I fell in love with this colour and knew that I could not leave without it. The colour is so pretty and can be used for so many different looks

Until next time
